August

Principal

August is a Seattle native from a multi-generational Washington family of entrepreneurs — lumber, down products, a ski and snowboard shop, and now Crescent Builds. He was drawn to building from a young age, and started working as a carpenter for a local remodel firm at 18, before founding Crescent in 2007. Today, he’s the driving force behind sales, client relations, and marketing, and
sets the standard for the construction, building, and carpentry craft every project
is built on.

Outside of work, life is full: raising two kids, taking the van out for weekend trips, working in the home woodshop, coaching soccer and baseball, and kiteboarding or skiing whenever the mountains or the coast are calling — usually both, in the same season.

Emilee

Principal

A Seattle native from a multi-generational Washington family, Emilee has been
Principal and Owner since 2009, wearing nearly every hat over the years — project manager, interior designer, operations director, bookkeeper — you name it, she’s done it. Her path started as a temporary detour: her husband August founded Crescent in 2007, and she stepped in between corporate tech roles to help bring structure to the growing business. Nearly 18 years later, she leads business operations and project management, with a deep appreciation for how that work directly shapes the client experience.

Outside of work, life stays full with her two kids, swim meets and soccer games, camper van road trips, biking and skiing — always chasing the mountains or the coast. Quieter moments go to yoga, knitting, and an ever-growing houseplant collection that feels, she’ll admit, entirely appropriate.

Sean

Production Project Manager

Sean’s path to construction wasn’t a straight line — his career has included roles in sales, management, sustainable tiny home construction, and high-end landscape installation. Growing up in a blue-collar farming community south of Chicago, he developed an early appreciation for craftsmanship and working with people, interests that eventually led him to project management. He was drawn to Crescent by the company’s values and has stayed because of the people.

Outside of work, you’ll find him outdoors — gardening, hiking, or camping or at home with his fiancée, two cats, and a new puppy. He’s also an avid fantasy reader, a live music enthusiast, and once taught hip-hop aerobics in college.

Alicia

Design & Client Relations Manager

Alicia brings 12 years of residential design experience to Crescent, along with an interior design degree from WSU and the unofficial title of Silent Co-Chair, whatever that means, the team seems to respect it. She joined the Crescent team when she returned to Washington, and it was a natural fit. Outside of work, Alicia and her dog Poppy are happiest near the water. Summers are for paddle boarding, soaking up the sunshine, and spending time with good company. 

Efren

Project Lead

Efren is the one who’s been challenging the idea of “good enough” since day one. He’s always had a natural instinct for building and creating, with welding serving as his entry point into construction before eventually leading him to carpentry. After years in commercial work, he discovered the satisfaction that comes from helping families bring their dream projects to life—and that’s where he found his place. 

Outside of work, Efren enjoys fishing the waters of the Pacific Northwest and watching soccer. His family likes to give him a hard time for how invested he gets in his teams, and his dogs are quick to join in—especially whenever a big play has him yelling at the TV. 

Travis

Project Lead

Meet Agent Adhesive—the one keeping the team (and your house) together. Travis got his start in construction in high school, took a brief detour, and found his way back to the trades in his mid-20s after realizing that working with his hands was where he belonged. He loves the full journey of a project, from the first day on site through the final details that bring everything together. Outside of work, Travis is usually somewhere outdoors—exploring the mountains, playing a round of golf, or taking a walk with his chocolate lab, Homer. 

Collin

Project Lead

Collin is the Project Lead who never throws away extra material, because you genuinely never know when it’ll come in handy. He started doing pottery at 11 and spent years working at a studio, until COVID slowed things down and he found himself doing something unexpected: renovating potters’ homes so they could build their own in-home studios. He fell in love with the work – the building, the problem-solving, the satisfaction of creating a functional space — and never looked back. Outside of work, he can’t sit still, so if he’s not on a jobsite he’s already got a new project going at home. 

Janelle

Business Operations Admin

As Crescent’s Business Operations Administrator, Janelle is equal parts numbers person, project administrator, and behind-the-scenes problem solver — the kind of person the whole team leans on. After years in business operations and project administration, she moved back to Seattle in 2022 and found a natural fit in a company where thoughtful planning is just as important as the work happening in the field.

Outside of work, she’s an avid reader, a fragrance collector, and a dedicated rescue dog mom to Wren. She has strong opinions about bread (rosemary sea salt, specifically), an impressive Law & Order catalog, and every four years her entire life comes to a halt for the FIFA World Cup — no exceptions.

Arba

People Operations & Office Admin

Arba is the person who keeps Crescent running smoothly. Originally from Pristina, Kosovo, she moved to Seattle in 2022 and joined the team about a year later. Before Crescent, she spent several years in the nonprofit sector, supporting children with autism, advancing child protection initiatives, and leading STEAM education programs. While her industry changed, her passion for helping people, building meaningful relationships, and creating organized, efficient systems has remained the same. 

Outside of work, she’s happiest somewhere new – a trail, a campsite, or a city she hasn’t explored yet. She also firmly believes that a full ten hours of sleep is essential. 

Milo

Senior Carpenter

Milo is Crescent’s resident motorcycle enthusiast – and officially, our Senior Carpenter. He found his way into the trades after realizing economics wasn’t quite the path for him, and he hasn’t looked back since. Drawn to Crescent by the opportunity to work alongside some of the best in the industry, he’ll be the first to tell you he made the right choice. Outside of work, Milo spends his time playing Spanish guitar, riding his motorcycle, and getting in the water whenever he can. 

Skender

Carpenter

Skender is the one who keeps the jobsite loose – always ready with a joke, and always the first one laughing whether it lands or not. He came to construction after immigrating to America from Kosovo as a war refugee, knowing nothing about the trade but willing to learn. He started from the ground up, built his skills on the job, and discovered a genuine passion for the work and 27 years later, he’s still at it. Crescent stood out when he was looking for his next chapter, and 13 years in, it’s still the right fit. Outside of work, Skender keeps it simple – chess, walks with his wife, and plenty of TV. His family has strong opinions about his ChatGPT use, which he takes in stride. 

Avery

Carpenter

Avery is the one who never throws anything away—because that scrap wood or random piece of metal will probably come in handy eventually. After graduating from film school, he found himself navigating the pandemic and picked up house painting as a way to stay busy. Somewhere along the way, he discovered he loved working with his hands, and carpentry became the unexpected career path he didn’t see coming. 

Now, building is simply part of who he is. Outside of work, Avery is usually making furniture, hosting friends for dinner, finding the most obscure karaoke song in the room, or heading out camping whenever he gets the chance. 

Tucker

Carpenter

Tucker is the one you turn to when you need a random animal fact – they always seem to have one ready. They got their start in construction working alongside their uncle, picked up the trade quickly, and never looked back. What they enjoy most is the straightforward nature of the work: every task has a clear purpose, every challenge has a solution, and there’s satisfaction in seeing tangible progress at the end of each day. Outside of work, Tucker is usually learning something new, creating art, or expanding their already impressive knowledge of the animal kingdom. 

Jim

Facilities Manager

Jim is the oldest member of the Crescent team, though you’d never guess it from how often he’s out there working. Born in November 1950 — he likes to joke the last tyrannosaur died the day before — Jim spent 36 years at Physio Control and Precor managing design, engineering, and eventually intellectual property. When he retired, Crescent Builds was still a young, thriving company, and a few family members (who will remain unnamed) figured Jim might be getting bored. So he joined the team a couple of days a week, and hasn’t been able to bring himself to leave since. If Jim had a title, it would be “the old guy who picks up the trash or delivers materials for your job” — but between the dump truck, meetings, and keeping equipment running in the shop, he’s exactly the kind of steady hand that makes a crew trustworthy.

Outside of work, Jim fishes, ties flies, and tends his vegetable garden. What he’s proudest of, though, is watching his kids grow and succeed, and seeing them add value to others’ lives. And of course, his grandkids — a talented granddaughter, over 15, and an endlessly inquisitive 11-year-old grandson.
